Step 2: Review the Project Activities and select the activities that your organization would like to adopt.

The Garden

Project GoalTeach: science, healthy food choices and productive leisure activity to moderate/severe special education students by growing fruits, vegetables and flowers. In addition to their own health, students learn about soil, seeds and how animals influence the food system (worms/honeybees) by teaching students to grow and maintain a garden. It is difficult to project the number of people this project will reach as we hope to encourage general education students to work with special education students at the school site and invite families in our community to participate. Initially, we will start with about 50 students.
